Job Description

Job Title: Bindery Operator II

Job Summary:

The Bindery Operator II is responsible for operating a variety of bindery equipment to produce printed materials according to job specifications. This mid-level position requires proficiency in setting up and operating complex bindery machines, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the quality of finished products. The Bindery Operator Level 2 may also provide guidance and training to Level 1 operators as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate bindery equipment, including cutting, folding, stitching, and binding machines.
  • Review job tickets and specifications to ensure materials are produced according to customer requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs and adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as cleaning, lubrication, and blade changes.
  • Inspect finished products for quality defects and make adjustments to machine settings as needed.
  • Provide guidance and training to Bindery Operator Level 1 operators as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating bindery equipment in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating cutting, folding, stitching, and binding machines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions to ensure job completion.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The pay rate for this position is $20.00/hr; however, base pay rate offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
