Description

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University is seeking a Development Officer who will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by being a passionate and outgoing fundraising professional. This individual will possess a deep appreciation and affinity for the mission and vision of Marian University, and embraces the opportunity to identify and leveraging Marian's database and resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Self-motivated professional who will be dedicated to growing the donor base for Marian University.
  • The development officer will provide personal outreach, cultivation and stewardship to current and new constituents.
  • This role requires a high volume of calls, emails, personal visits and additional methods of meaningful contact to engage and solicit donors.
  • Monthly, quarterly annual metrics will be utilized to provide a roadmap for success.
  • Participates in advancement events by securing sponsors, promoting attendance, and engaging new constituents.
  • Attends various on and off-campus events as a representative of Marian University.
  • The Development Officer will serve a variety of departments across campus, but specific opportunities exist with alumni out reach for the Wood College of Osteopathic medicines engaging young alumni donor and more.

  • The ideal candidate will bring a combination of practical experience, energy, and vision that will be a transforming influence in making the Office of Institutional Advancement one of the top development operations in the Midwest.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university;
  • Proficiency of expression in oral and written communication
  • Commitment to collegiality and collaborative decision-making
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to the integration of liberal and professional learning and the creation of a vibrant campus life in a Catholic, Franciscan environment.
