The Senior Programmer, under minimal supervision, participates in the analysis, coding, testing, programming, and maintenance for new and existing software enhancements. This position utilizes strong programming skills and expertise to support customer or internal organizations.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Performs, and may lead, code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure code quality and resolve issues.
  • Analyzes, and may lead analysis of, new assignments and designs/develops programming requirements and software specifications.
  • Programs and tests all or selected components of complex applications.
  • Analyzes and resolves test result problems and debugs production issues.
  • Creates programming documentation; may include defining the system and functional requirements of the product.
  • Stays updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve skills and enhance software development processes.
  • Adheres to organizational standards, policies, and procedures related to software development, security, and compliance.
  • Completes project bids and/or work effort estimates. Interacts with customers to gather system requirements.
  • Mentors, trains, develops and provides support to less experienced co-workers.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering, computer information systems, or computer science
  • Minimum of six years of technical experience in software development or related field.
  • Must have experience with RPG programming.
  • Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to write software code; strong knowledge of appropriate programming language(s).
  • Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple initiatives.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • SilverLake experience
  • IBM i development experience
  • Experience with COBOL Programming
  • Banking/Credit Union development experience
  • Applies advanced, wide-ranging experience; uses in-depth professional knowledge, acumen, concepts and company objectives to develop, resolve complex problems, models and procedures. Provides solutions to issues in creative and effective ways. Understands the interrelationships of different disciplines.
  • Directs the application of existing principles and guides development of new policies and ideas.
  • Data analysis skills including ability to perform advanced SQL queries.
  • Excellent knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable change management system.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Exercises good judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions.
  • Ability to lead complex projects.
