Position Summary: The UIMG Securities Trader / Operations Specialist works under broad Operations and Trading Manager oversight. Serves as an administrator for UIMG operational systems and processes related to trading and reporting. Serves as a resource for testing new functions/processes and training department on use. Responsible for trade execution, ensuring all securities are traded accurately and efficiently while achieving best execution.

Essential Functions:



  • Work under the direct supervision of the Operations & Trading Manager by completing various tasks as assigned. The Securities Trader / Operations Specialist may serve as a primary or backup for the following responsibilities:


    • Compilation and execution of security trades submitted by portfolio managers.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of securities markets while monitoring and reporting changing conditions to portfolio managers.
    • Assist in the construction and refinement of system-based reports for client-facing managers.
    • Assist in the preparation of customized reporting including monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports for internal and external communications.
    • Monitor and track multiple broker/dealer inventories and work/negotiate directly with brokers/dealers in execution of securities trades
    • Assist in ensuring all intra- and inter-departmental operational questions or requests are addressed in a timely manner.
    • Collaborate with internal and third-party software personnel to resolve performance, reconciliation, and data integrity issues.
    • Assist with voting security proxies in accordance with UIMG approved guidelines.


  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training: follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • 4 year degree in finance or accounting preferred.
  • 1-3 years union investment management experience preferred.
  • Experience in UIMG systems and software preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, SS&C Advent Suite, and Power BI preferred.

Working Environment:

Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.

This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines upon completion of onboarding.
