The Associate, Inventory Control is a temporary role that will support New Era during our distribution center (DC) transition. This assignment is expected to last for six (6) months as we coordinate the movement of inventory to the new distribution center. The Associate, Inventory Control will keep track of Stock Transport Order (STOs) through detailed reporting and help to correct discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison for all inventory movements with the DC and internal parties
  • Work closely with DC Operations (GXO and CEVA) to coordinate shipments
  • Assist with the creation, execution, and reconciliation of Stock Transfer orders
  • Help identify detailed inventory for movements
    • Help to identify priorities
    • Identify fast and slow-moving inventory
    • Prepare inventory reports at SKU level
  • Develop and manage detailed reports showing all transfers and deliveries
    • Log all incoming and outgoing inventory transactions (receipts, transfers, shipments)
  • Track KPIs of Stock Transfer Orders and elevate all issues
  • Coordinate inaccurate inventory investigations utilizing SAP
  • Perform inventory adjustments or material to material transfers, as needed
  • Work with finance to highlight discrepancies and scrap
  • Assist with new system projects, including testing
  • Ensure all materials are transitioned to the new plant codes by working with master data
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of inventory control activities
  • Must be responsive to the needs of internal customers, employ diplomacy & tact, and work well in a team environment
  • Sound interpersonal, mathematical and computer skills
  • Must be familiar with a major ERP system (SAP, etc.)
  • Detail oriented; accomplishes tasks by considering all areas involved showing concern for all processes and tasks, no matter how small
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels of staff and outside customers/suppliers
  • Understand goals and objectives established by the company and work towards satisfying them
  • Enthusiastic positive person who embraces and facilitates change with a sense of urgency and persistence
  • Challenges self to learn better ways of doing things (takes advantage of opportunities to improve skill set, attends courses and seminars to broaden knowledge) and demonstrates initiative
  • Works hard to establish collaborative working relationships and actively develops them to more effectively accomplish work objectives

Education and Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Zero (0) to One (1) years of experience in inventory, or supply chain operations

Travel Requirement

  • The location for this position is 100% on-site in Buffalo, NY
  • 0% to 5%; domestic and/or global

The hourly rate for this posted position is $20.00 - $25.00 and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
