Global OEM Brand Manager - Heavy Equipment

This position is a remote role and can be located anywhere near a major US airport.

Strategy Development:



  • With marketing (global and regional) as well as segment and regional leadership, build the business plan for an assigned list of OEM brands including:

    • Establishment of regional/sub-segment gap analysis and action plan for closure for these brands

      • Voice of Customer: product needs - both today and for the future.
      • Mapping of strategy and right to win by brand
      • Global coordination of pipeline and activities by brand
      • Guidance on gaps related to physical infrastructure and headcount requirements

    • Provide competitive intelligence and positioning guidance.
    • Branding strategy & execution - ensure Sherwin-Williams is understood as market leader and holds a preferred supplier position with assigned global brands

  • Support refinement of business & marketing strategy through investigation and communication of market trends, and through collaboration efforts with broader marketing and sales teams
  • Involvement in industry associations and trade shows, in cooperation with segment management
  • In coordination with segment marketing manager, drive product and industry training across the sales teams within responsible brand and/or geographic areas to improve our call effectiveness in the sales process.



Marketing Communication:



  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager & MarComm team regarding Heavy Equipment segment specific market materials including marketing activities related to assigned OEM brands
  • Lead demand generations activities / design & deliver market & product training, both internally & externally in support of assigned OEM brands


Market Expansion:



  • Global responsibility for value proposition development, deployment, best practice sharing and replication across assigned OEM brands
  • Together with the regional sales organizations; identify and prioritize a pipeline by assigned brand of new business across all technologies that delivers on our financial objectives over the planning period.
  • Support sales efforts so that the regional team and resources are optimized for pipeline expansion and close rate.
  • Together with segment and product management, provide direction on prioritization by customer and region, and help drive prioritization and approvals of Sherwin-Williams products in-order to enable sales execution.
  • Lead the development of proposals and presentations related to assigned OEM brands/customers.
  • When appropriate, support directly the contract negotiation and execution process for newly acquired customers.
  • Be an advocate of value proposition selling (new business and top-grading existing)


FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • College degree, or 7+ years related coating experience


Preferred:



  • MBA



KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • 5 years industrial coatings industry sales and/or marketing experience required


Preferred:



  • Specific segment sales experience
  • Global sales experience



TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic understanding of coatings chemistry and application


Preferred:



  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com



TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:



  • 50% or more
