| ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a Senior Project Development Engineer to join our Public Sector Southwest team. This role is preferred to work in an ESG Southwest office location which includes Albuquerque, NM; Littleton, CO; or Rockwall, TX. This position may also be remote, but the candidate should reside in the Southwest Region (CO, TX, NM). The position requires travel up to 35%, including overnight stays. This individual will be responsible for individual project engineering and development activities to achieve business unit goals and maximize profitability. Invest in the development of their capabilities and contributions to the organizationCoordinate and perform ASHRAE Levels 1, 2 & 3 Commercial Building Energy AuditsIdentify opportunities for energy and water conservation, on-site power generation, and resource conservationPrepare project feasibility assessments, scopes of work, savings calculations, draft M&V plans, and investment grade audit reportsServe as a technical resource in communications and presentations with the clientReview, analyze and prepare conceptual and detailed design documents, bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for facility improvement measures (FIMs)Coordinate with vendors and installation contractors for scoping and pricing or proposed FIMsSupport engineering activities during project development, construction, project commissioning, and operations, including savings calculations, proposals, reports, cost estimates, and presentationsDevelop, implement, and enforce company-wide engineering and project development best practicesGather and evaluate historic utility information to establish accurate baseline facility performancePerform cost savings calculations, life-cycle cost analysis, and other project financial evaluationsGenerate accurate computer-based energy models when appropriateCarefully review submittals from vendors and subcontractorsAssist in proper equipment selectionAssist in the development of project Measurement and Verification (M&V) plansAttend engineering, design, safety, construction, and any other project meetings as appropriateServe as a peer reviewer for calculations, estimates and scopes or work prepared by fellow engineering team members across the organizationMaintain awareness of new technologies, strategies, industry developments and standards.Participate in local industry organizations (e.g. AEE, ASHRAE, etc.) and encourage community involvementMaintain knowledge of existing and upcoming building and energy codes that directly impact our core businessConsistently demonstrate ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise.  Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent field of studyFive (5) or more years of industry experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredCertified Energy Manager (CEM) preferredExtensive knowledge of performance contracting, design-build construction, and delivery of projects to the MUSH marketSuperior written and verbal communication skillsAn innovative and motivational mentalityExcellent decision-making and problem-solving skillsConfident and goal orientedAbility to travel up to 35%
