Summary: Under general direction, inspects, monitors and repairs the many and various systems, utilities and equipment.
Essential Functions-Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
-Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
-Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
- Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
- Responsible for adhering to assigned work orders, conducts building tours as directed.
- Responsible for updating inventory list as needed
- Performs a variety of minor repair functions.
- Monitor the Building Automation System and responds to alarms, fire alarms, utility interruptions, and makes required notifications.
- Troubleshoots problems with equipment on all floors of all hospital buildings to assess the nature of the problem, the urgency for the user, and instigates an appropriate response.
- Maintains communication links with Public Safety Department personnel.
- Familiar with emergency response procedures to ensure the timely response of staff to prevent losses.
- Subject to a call in anytime for emergencies.
- Respond to problems of all trades during off shift hours as required.

Education
* High school or vocational school diploma or equivalent.
* One to two years similar healthcare facilities environment desired.
* Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of mechanical systems.

Heavy Equipment Mechanics Experience 2-3 years required
