Title: Driver Advocate

Reports to: Director of Talent Acquisition

Location: Houston, TX

Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Driver Advocate to join our team. This individual will serve as a dedicated point of contact for our professional drivers, helping to improve the overall driver experience and retention nationwide. This role is focused on building strong relationships with drivers, addressing their concerns, and ensuring they feel supported and valued throughout their employment journey. While the primary focus is on retention, this position may also assist in driver recruitment efforts as needed-especially by promoting referrals, helping screen applicants, and supporting onboarding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with company drivers across the country.
  • Act as the main point of contact for driver support, ensuring timely resolution of issues, concerns, or feedback.
  • Conduct regular check-ins (calls, surveys, or in-person visits) to monitor satisfaction, identify risks, and encourage engagement.
  • Analyze driver feedback and turnover data to identify trends and work cross-functionally to address root causes of dissatisfaction.
  • Develop and promote retention programs, driver recognition efforts, and wellness initiatives.
  • Support the recruiting team by encouraging driver referrals, helping screen candidates, and assisting with new driver onboarding when needed.
  • Advocate for driver needs internally, collaborating with dispatch, operations, and leadership to ensure their voices are heard and addressed.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver communications and actions taken.
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador who promotes a positive and inclusive work environment for all drivers.


Other:

  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times ensuring quality customer service both internally and externally
  • Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures
  • Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company
  • Work overtime as needed


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience in driver relations, HR, recruiting, transportation, or similar roles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to support and advocate for others.
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 75% of the time.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflict with professionalism and empathy.
  • Experience in the transportation/trucking industry strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized with the ability to work independently and remotely if needed.
  • Excellent customer service skills, dynamic and charismatic
  • Creative problem solving; innovative
  • Ability to effectively prioritize daily activities
  • Interpersonal skills that provide the ability to lead and work as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to promote and maintain high ethical standards, both personally and professionally
  • Significant market alignment capabilities
