Job Description:
We're looking for a detail-driven and compassionate Senior Benefits & Leave Administrator to join our HR team and help deliver best-in-class support across our U.S. and Canadian operations. In this role, you'll be the subject matter expert for both leave management and employee benefits, playing a critical part in ensuring compliance, improving processes, and making things simpler and more seamless for our people. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the administration of and actively manage all types of leave requests (FMLA, ADA, parental, military, personal, etc.) ensuring consistent application of policies and legal compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Administer employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA/HSA, and 401(k) for US and Canada.
- Responsible for Workday functionality for benefit and leave of absence modules, and partners with HRIS to ensure accurate configuration and file integrations to vendors. Identify areas to process improve and streamline.
- Assists with annual enrollment process including system configuration design and testing, communications, providing employee assistance as required and auditing enrollment data (including resolution of errors).
- Act as a liaison between employees and benefit vendors to resolve issues and answer benefit-related questions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in HRIS and absence administration platforms.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other relevant laws.
- Prepare reports and analytics on benefits usage, leave trends, and costs as needed.
- Develop and deliver training, resources and guidance to managers and employees on leave processes and benefit offerings.
- Conducts benefits audits, and reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audits related to benefits and leave.
- Serves as a back-up to other Benefit team members on an as needed basis for daily inquiries and tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in benefits and/or leave administration.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other relevant employment laws. Understanding of Canadian benefits and regulations preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Workday experience required.
- Experience with Absence Soft software is also a plus.
- Strong compliance and risk management mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to assess business and employee needs and make recommendations to meet those needs.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong analytical skills. Proficient in MS Excel and other Office Suite Products.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies.
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize.
