About the Job

The Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI) program is seeking a Cisco-certified professional to redesign one or both of two existing advanced undergraduate networking courses, with the work focused on enterprise infrastructure and emerging network technologies. The courses are INET 4011 (Network Administration) and INET 4041 (Emerging Technologies). This role involves integrating Cisco learning platforms and labs into the University's Canvas LMS, with curriculum aligned to current CCNA and advanced Cisco certification standards.

Ideal candidates will be experienced in Cisco-based instruction, curriculum design, and real-world enterprise networking. They must be prepared to create rigorous, hands-on learning experiences that blend foundational networking with current trends in SD-WAN, IoT, virtualization, and automation. Teaching one or both of the courses after they are redesigned is a possibility.
The redesign work will take approximately three months to complete for each course. This role is a 15% FTE.

The search committee will begin reviewing applications the week of August 4, 2025. The deadline to apply is July 31.

*Please note, we are not offering H-1B or Green Card sponsorship for this position.

The University of Minnesota is committed to fostering local talent through employment opportunities. Although the course redesign work may be completed remotely, this is not preferable, as the potential teaching opportunity offers a flexible work arrangement as a hybrid position to help shape and be responsible for the learner experience. Therefore, prospective teaching applicants must be located either in the state of Minnesota or near the Wisconsin border or otherwise open to relocation.
