Job Description Summary: |
The Project Manager, Office of the Provost provides enhanced project and administrative support to the Office of the Provost. This position reports to the Executive Director of Administration and Operations, often serving as a liaison between the Provost's Office and other departments within or outside the university. The Project Manager works independently with limited supervision, often coaching, reviewing or delegating work to lower-level staff and maintains the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and conscientiousness in the execution of these duties.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manages and executes complex or special projects and events, guiding timelines and resources to achieve objectives, including liaising with external stakeholders and partners
- Conducts analyses to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Provost Office practices and procedures
- Drafts, edits and prepares presentations, reports and briefing materials
- Coordinates activities between departments to ensure that projects meet deadlines and that goals are met within budget targets
- Organizes and oversees the planning, logistics and staff support of high-level meetings, including coordinating venues, technology needs, agendas, and catering, ensuring all aspects run smoothly
- Monitors and delegates tasks to Provost Office administrative staff as directed by the Assistant Provost for Administration and Operations
- Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive information, acting with discretion in handling and disseminating details pertinent to Provost Office operations
- Facilitates internal communication by acting as a liaison between Provost Office leadership and other staff members, ensuring clear and effective dissemination of directives and information
- Ensures new staff are set up with appropriate resources and equipment, as well as appropriate training
- Identifies, performs, and manages special projects as appropriate based on the needs of the Provost Office
- Provides oversight and guidance to staff who will meticulously coordinate scheduling for Provost Office leadership

Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
