WHO WE ARE This position is with Helena Industries (HI). HI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC and provides production and distribution solutions to customers across a wide variety of industries. HI is one of the largest chemical toll manufacturers in the U.S. and our clients include many household name brands and large retailers. ABOUT THE JOB The Plant Accounting Manager manages all accounting functions within the plant and assumes responsibility for month-end accounting accuracy, financial forecasting and budgeting, management of all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This position also manages inventory accounting and customer reporting. WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Manages customer invoicing, reconciliation of customer invoices to customer reporting and collections from customers within payment terms.
- Manages accounts payable functions including coding of invoices, submission of invoices, review of any variances, correction of variances and accuracy of coding.
- Manages time entry and audits POC hours from Kronos as they are applied to Oracle (payroll).
- Reviews payroll registers to verify the accuracy of payroll.
- Ensures accurate product costing for the plants.
- Implements procedures to ensure correct tracking of man-hours to production batches for product costing.
- Manages and prepares monthly forecasting and variance analysis from forecast to actual results.
- Prepares the month-end close entries including accruals, reclassifications and adjustment of entries as necessary.
- Reconciles revenue for the P&L statement.
- Reviews expenses for accuracy.
- Prepares annual budget for the plant.
- Manages the inventory accounting function to ensure correct inventory balances and system transactions in all areas including customer reporting on inventory, shipments, receipts and production.
- Works with plant team to implement procedures to achieve the accuracy and timeliness of data.
- Oversees the audit of daily transactions to validate data accuracy.
- Works closely with Plant Manager to monitor expenses, labor and revenue against the forecast.
- Makes recommendations for adjustments to achieve the best financial performance.
- Works closely with Plant Manager and plant team to execute operations in accordance with proper procedures and internal controls.
- Maximizes accounting system capabilities to improve the business operations, productivity and profitability.
- Reviews costing of finished goods and intermediate products to compare cost analysis to the contracted quotes to customers.
- Analyzes cost swings to determine if expense coding and man-hours are correct to ensure accurate costing.
- Performs financial analysis on the plant's overall performance to provide the Plant Manager and executive leadership team with recommendations on directions and actions that should be taken to improve profitability.
- Tracks and submits capital projects for closure to corporate accounting.
- Responsible for training the plant accounting team.
- Manages other team members.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- Five years of related work experience in financial and inventory accounting is required.
- CPA or MBA is preferred.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Oracle and Kronos experience is preferred.
- Sets priorities and works on multiple tasks.
- Organizational skills.
- Presentation skills
- Ability to travel by various means up to 15% of the time is required.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
- Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.

This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more), reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods of time, working below knee levels for short periods of time and working above shoulder level for short periods.
