Job Description Under the direction of the CNO, the Nurse Manager provides continuous nursing care in the assigned area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Hospital and within the framework of established policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing Services. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the clinical leadership and coordination of all nursing personnel as assigned to their units and/or hospital. As a key team member in the clinical area, the Nurse Manager promotes a climate of effective performance through role modeling, willingness to learn and teach, and availability to patients and staff. Organizes, manages and coordinates nursing services and will assure quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process, as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act. Assists with the assigned area(s) through nursing responsibilities including patient care, facilitating groups or other duties as directed by the CNO. Responsible as the Infection Control nurse who actively participates in preventing or stopping the spread of infection in the healthcare setting. This Nurse Manager will have the responsibilities of infection control including gathering and analyzing infection data to make evidence-based decisions. This Nurse Manager will educate all staff on infection prevention protocols to facilitate emergency procedures. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelors in Nursing Preferred Education: Bachelors' degree in a Healthcare/Human Services field Minimum Experience: 3 years clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, including charge nurse Preferred Experience: Experience as a nurse manager within a behavioral health setting preferred Required Certification/ License: RN AZ state license Supervises: Nursing Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Staff Nurses, Nurse Interns, LPN's, and other personnel as directed by the CNO EEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
