Dining Manager | Assisted Living and Memory Care | Full-Time | St Peter, MN.

The Dining Manager position is responsible for managing the preparation and service of meals, ordering the food, planning menus and supervising staff. This position is also responsible for all aspects of food service and managing the staff.

Ecumen is hiring a Dining Manager to lead culinary services at Ecumen Prairie Hill and Ecumen Sand Prairie in St. Peter, MN. This is a newly created position supporting both communities. Ecumen Sand Prairie consists of 42 assisted living rental apartment homes, and Ecumen Prairie Hill consists of 43 independent living and assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 20 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services. Both are located in St. Peter, Minnesota.

Schedule: Full-Time. Primary hours are Monday - Friday 8a-4:30p. Can vary dependent on business needs. Leader on duty rotation.

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $63,000 - $73,000 per year. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities:



  1. Ensures quality meals are prepared, cooked, and served to residents, families, guests and team members.
  2. Oversees department staffing including hiring, training and mentoring of dining team members as well as maintaining adequate staffing.
  3. Creates menus that enhance the dining experience for the people we serve using knowledge of nutrition and special diets and input from residents.
  4. Guarantees food and supply inventory levels are monitored and oversees the food and supply ordering.
  5. Manages the annual budget for the dining department and operates the department within this budget.
  6. Partners with department leaders to maintain awareness of facility special events and activities to ensure adequate product and labor are available.
  7. Ensures the staff maintain a clean sanitary work area. Complies with state and federal rules and regulations, follows established policies, procedures and practices of the facility.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.



Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • High School graduate or GED
  • Certified Food Protection Manager in accordance with MN Department of Health or eligible within 90-days of hire
  • 2 years of food service management experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Management or similar
  • Previous experience in providing food service management to seniors
  • Previous experience in inventory control, food cost analysis, menu planning, event planning.
