Overview

The Domestic Lead is responsible of the efficient movement of shipments from origin to destination including identifying and selecting most appropriate and cost effective domestic routing including airfreight, LTL, FTL and overall support of branch operations. This role is the primary contact for cartage including pickup and deliveries through our in-house cartage partner, warehouse and dock operations.



Responsibilities

    Assist the Domestic Supervisor in managing functions in the department and work close with the warehouse team such as inbound labels/paperwork and check in drivers
  • Quoting, tracking, and tracing domestic freight shipments moving for more challenging accounts via air/ground on a daily basis. Track overhead shipments daily and route accordingly
  • Manually review our OPS Routing queue thru out the day. Manage daily reports, such as milestones and dock check
  • Assist in escalation request, research and address issues with employees. Update process to fit resolutions and continue process improvement flow
  • Take an active role in the onboarding of new team members. Provide team training and development. Manage daily reports, such as milestones and dock check
  • Assist Operations Supervisor with project rollouts, as needed
  • Communicate quarterly and annually goals and monitor employee's goals progress
  • Proactively communicate with clients regarding status of freight
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards


Qualifications

Education
* High School Degree or equivalent (Required)
* Associate's Degree (Preferred)

Experience
* 5+ years Experience in Freight forwarding, domestic forwarding ground carriers, commercial airlines and cartage (Required) and
* 2+ years SAP, AS400 & CargoWise Experience (Preferred) and

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of regulations and compliance procedures associated with all areas of freight forwarding, domestic forwarding ground carriers, commercial airlines and cartage High
* Understanding knowledge of freight forwarding Routing and Quoting. High
* Knowledge of IATA and TSA regulations High
* add, subtract, multiply, divide using units of currency, weight, volume and distance measurements High
* Computer literate & have knowledge of both Microsoft Word & Excel. Medium
* Able to interact effectively with personnel at all levels of employment. Medium
