Position Purpose:

Analyzes data for creation of statistical reports used for program or process evaluation. Responsible for maintaining databases and extracting data for analysis. Runs and reviews reports, analyzing results in support of operational functions.

Location:

This position is full-time (40 hours per week), Monday - Friday and will be on-site at One Century Plaza in Nashville, TN. There is the potential for hybrid work once training is complete and performance standards are being met. Some travel between buildings and out of town.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Requirements:

Certain divisions within BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina require CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) residency that requires employees to have lived in the US for at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years. This is a business requirement - government contracts, not an HR requirement.In the spirit of transparency, if we extend an offer and discover during the background check process that you have not been in the US for at least three (3) years, you will fail background, and the offer will be rescinded.

What You'll Do:

  • Reviews, extracts and analyzes data to be used in formulation of procedures, processes and other requirements. Provides reports of relevant activity to be used to identify problematic areas and to provide basis for modification and/or elimination of operations issues.
  • Assists with development of complex analysis and sophisticated data compilation, verification, and interpretations to guide divisional efforts. Performs focused analyses as needed. Creates data search programs to identify pertinent data needed to provide supporting documentation for system or operational enhancements/changes.
  • Documents reporting procedures so other staff can run ad hoc reports independently. Designs, codes, and maintains complex database programs for the extraction and analysis of data to support financial and operational decisions.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:

Required Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a job-related field.
  • Degree Equivalency not applicable for the Celerian Group. Bachelor's degree required.

Required Work Experience:

  • 2 years of research and analysis experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational, customer service, communications and analytical skills.
  • The ability to use complex mathematical calculations.
  • Advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer support systems.
  • Knowledge of programming languages across various software platforms, using DB2, SQL, and/or relational databases.
  • The ability to analyze data results, determine the source of aberrant statistics and resolve data issues.

Required Software and Tools:

  • Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Visual Basic and Macros useful in automating reporting processes.

We Prefer You to Have:

  • 3 years of research, data mining and data analysis experience.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of development experience in SQL server, Power BI.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, claims, prior authorization, supporting DME.
