About the Job

Position Overview

This research position is within the Translational Center for Resuscitative Trauma Care. Our mission is to develop and evaluate innovative, effective acute trauma care from point of injury through early post-injury in austere, low resource, rural, and emergency care setting and create a multidisciplinary, translational research center that brings together trauma and emergency care research across the state of Minnesota and develops faculty and trainee research careers.

This position supports the prehospital care improvement projects. It is expected that the person in this position will work independently with minimal guidance from the supervisor. It is expected that the person in this position has a deep knowledge of hospital systems and current best practices.

Duties/Responsibilities

35%: Situational Analysis

  • Expertly collects background information on hospital operations for Minnesota Critical Access Hospitals
  • Expertly collects background information on prehospital operations
  • Evaluates current clinical outcomes for the State of Minnesota EMS system
  • Evaluates current clinical outcomes for the State of Minnesota Critical Access Hospitals
  • Evaluates current practices and benchmarks against clinical outcomes

60%: Operations Planning

  • Synthesize background data and current best practices
  • Provide expertise to the prehospital care improvement team
  • Collaboratively develop a pilot program for a regional prehospital care coordinating center
  • Evaluate and iteratively improve the pilot model
  • Collaboratively develop a statewide or regional model
  • Provide the use case for implementation of a large-scale prehospital care coordinating center

5%: Additional duties

  • Other duties as required
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • MS/MSN or a combination of education and work experience in hospital administration to total ten years
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed by project.
  • Must be willing to travel outstate to conduct research
  • No less than 3 years' experience leading hospital level care coordination
  • Experience with operational planning, execution and evaluation
  • Experience with nursing operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience writing for publication

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $50,000 - $55,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
