Principal Associate, Learning Consultant - Capital One Retail Bank

Capital One is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Learning Consultant to join our dynamic Learning & Development team within the Retail Bank. As a Principal Associate, Learning Consultant, you will play a critical role in ensuring our learning experiences are offered with both user and business objectives in mind. You will work closely with Retail Bank business leaders and HR partners to consult on learning experiences for Associates, helping to drive a culture of growth and fuel their journey to excellence.

Responsibilities:

Consulting & Needs Assessment:

  • Partner with Retail Bank clients and HR business partners to identify learning needs that align with business priorities

  • Build business acumen within the Retail Bank to make impactful recommendations

  • Identify gaps, needs, and opportunities for Associate development supported by both qualitative and quantitative data

  • Identify and report the impacts of learning initiatives on overall performance and organizational effectiveness

Strategy & Solution Development:

  • Create a holistic learning strategy and gain buy-in from both HR Business Partners and stakeholders

  • Develop and implement learning strategies including learning reinforcement for the Retail Bank, partnering with diverse teams across the organization

  • Become well-versed in the Enterprise learning portfolio to recommend appropriate solutions

  • Provide feedback on instructional design content to designers and parallel feedback to the facilitation team to improve the learning experience

Program Management & Evaluation:

  • Effectively manage projects and organizational initiatives, prioritizing independently and seeing the strategic big picture

  • Report and evaluate training programs, measuring learning impact through assessments and data analysis to recommend enhancements

  • Autonomously solve problems through critical thinking and implementing through resolution

Stakeholder Partnership & Communication:

  • Build strong partnerships with Enterprise Curriculum Experiences and Job Family teams

  • Demonstrate strong customer focus, anticipating both internal and external customer needs and partnering to make decisions that have a positive impact

  • Actively participate in the Line of Business Consultant Forums to gain insights from peers and share learning recommendations

Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

  • A passion for client-facing interaction, problem-solving, making connections across work, strategizing, and collaborating to meet Associate learning needs

  • Strong communication, influence, and problem-solving skills across multiple stakeholders and audiences

  • The ability to think ahead on communication needs, strategy, and rollout to keep all parties informed and organized

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, while being a collaborative and positive team player

  • A focus on delivering customer (learner) needs while balancing stakeholder viewpoints

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in Training Design or at least 2 years of experience in Delivery or a combination

  • At least 1 year of experience in Consulting, Project, Program Management or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Training Design or Delivery

  • 2+ years of experience in project management

  • Strong attention to detail and results-oriented, with the ability to meet objectives, handle multiple deadlines and priorities, communicate trade-offs, and provide solutions for identified problems

  • Demonstrates a proven track record of strategic partnerships to remain informed on projects and initiatives across an organization

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $102,700 - $117,200 for Learning Consultant Richmond, VA: $93,400 - $106,600 for Learning Consultant

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
