H&S Family of Bakeries are one of the largest suppliers of buns, rolls and bread products in the United States, and a Supplier of Choice for numerous restaurants in the country. Based in Baltimore, MD., we are part of a network of 10 bakeries and multiple distribution centers along the East Coast, all committed to one thing: producing the best quality bread products possible.

The Fleet Payment Specialist supports the Independent Operator Program by providing administrative and accounting assistance focused on the accurate processing of payments, receivables, and recordkeeping. This role ensures timely and precise cash disbursements related to independent operator bread and route franchise sales, contributing to the integrity of financial operations and contractor relationships for our Schmidt Baking Company division.

In this role, you will:

* Review and process Independent Operator (IO) sales settlements

* Cash handling and process deposits

* Interact directly with Independent Operators and customers regarding settlement-related inquiries

* Pay and reconcile invoices for multiple locations

* Compile and maintain accounting data specific to Independent Operator route and franchise activity

* Enter and manage data using spreadsheets and internal systems

* Perform audits and analysis of settlement records for accuracy and compliance

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED with experience in a business or corporate environment

* General knowledge of the cash receiving and bill paying processes

* Background in accounting or business-related functions, with a focus on accounts receivable (A/R) and/or accounts payable (A/R)

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members

* Effective time management and organizational skills

* Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision

* Available to work some Holiday and weekends as necessary

* Prior experience with financial recordkeeping, settlements, or contractor/vendor payment processing is a plus
