Job Purpose
Lead a team of factory financial analysts to ensure appropriate accounting principles are utilized. Work with factory management to ensure complete understanding of financial impact based on manufacturing changes and translate that into financial forecasts. This role would be comparable to an accounting manager in many organizations. but that was not an option provided in the standard list from HR. This role has a larger team and more responsibilities and autonomy in decision making than the Supervisor position.
Key Accountabilities
- Plant Accountant Leadership of MAP Accounting team.
- Leadership responsibility of Divisions team - Goal creation, PPR reviews, training, day-to-
day supervision and management. - Mentors, trains and oversees the work of direct reports. Develop strategy for team efficiency.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas.
- Acts as cost cross functional expert.
- Provide guidance and direction for cost management.
- Clearly and consistently conveys company and plant direction to team members.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- 4 year Accounting or Finance degree
- 2 year Associates degree acceptable with 6+ years Accounting experience
- 6+ years Accounting experience (preferably at Honda)
- Project management, Associate development / mentoring
Working Conditions
- Average 10 hours OT/Wee
- Some travel between plants within Ohio. Minimal out of state travel
- Plant environment which will require proper PPE to go to the spot / meeting
