Job Description
ECU Department of Joyner Library Services: Circulation Department is seeking several federal work-study Graduate Circulation Assistants for Fall 2025/Spring 2026.

The Circulation Department is one of the busiest units within the library, and the first point-of-contact for many patrons. Students working in this department are expected to represent the library by providing exemplary customer service both at the front desk and in the stacks.

On a daily basis, the Circulation Graduate Student Assistants will:

  • Check in and out materials, answer questions, and assist patrons at the front desk
  • Assist in opening and closing* duties for the department as needed
  • Assist with equipment inventory and cleaning projects
  • Supervise Undergraduate students in the absence of Staff members
  • Any other special tasks necessary to assist in the day-to-day functions of the department


*Graduate Students will be expected to have at least one closing shift a week and work one weekend day.

Over the Fall/Spring, the Circulation Department will be open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM-10:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Saturday 10AM-5PM and Sunday from 10 AM-10 PM. We are looking for a student to work the morning, afternoon and/or evening shifts.
