Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Consultant for a remote role for supply chain risk management with analysis supporting supply chain operations at the intersection of services and products. You may also assist other projects with supply planning and logistics management activities including inventory and distribution management. This role will require operating under uncertainty in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and is self-motivated, fast learner. The successful LMI Supply Chain Consultant demonstrates competency in a broad range of supply chain planning and management activities and project execution, leadership critical thinking, and relationship management while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.

Responsibilities

    Identify, analyze, and monitor risks across the supplier base (e.g., geopolitical, financial, cyber, natural disasters).
  • Collaborate with the portfolio management team to identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies and actions.
  • Monitor Tier 1 and sub-tier suppliers for potential disruptions and single points of failure.
  • Develop and maintain a database of qualified alternate suppliers and vendors.
  • Assess alternate sourcing options based on cost, lead time, capacity, quality, compliance, and geographic diversification.
  • Support the qualification, onboarding, and approval process for backup suppliers, as required.
  • Ensure alternate sourcing and supplier risk practices comply with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS, cybersecurity standards).
  • Demand planning, including baseline forecasts
  • Use scenario modeling tools to evaluate impact of vendor loss and time to recover.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to reduce risk exposure and enhance supply continuity.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5 years experience working in commercial logistics and supply chain management
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data-driven decision-making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and convey complex ideas effectively
  • Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance.
  • Available for occasional travel.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Secret clearance.
  • Experience with data analytics tools for supply chain insights.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and manage change within an organization.
  • A relevant industry certification such as the ASCM CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
  • Prior military or DoD civilian/contractor experience
