Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Coordinate services for events, such as facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security.
  • Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, and resolution of any problems that arise.
  • Liaison with Alumni Association and Hospitality with maintenance and scheduling.
  • Responsible for sales, collections, payroll, and operating costs.
  • Inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to customer requirements.
  • Evaluate and select providers of services according to customer requirements.
  • Arrange the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs.
  • Work directly with clients to coordinate all details for their events.
  • Maintain sales growth for Merket, Frazier and Chapel facilities.
  • Communicate with kitchen/catering staff to ensure timely and proper event execution.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Restaurant, Hotel, Institutional Management or related area. ServeSafe Certification. TABC Server Certification.
