Director of Support for Workforce Training (SWFT)
This position is a grant-funded, on-campus, full-time, 12-month, administrative appointment based in Champaign, Illinois with an annual salary of $85,095.15.

The Director of the Support for Workforce Training (SWFT) Program provides strategic leadership, administrative oversight, and operational management of Parkland College's SWFT program. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with grant requirements, coordinating services for student participants, and collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders to promote student success in workforce training pathways.

Essential Job Functions:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and administration of all SWFT program components.
- Coordinate outreach, recruitment, application, and selection processes for SWFT participants.
- Partner with campus departments to design and deliver academic support, career services, and enrichment opportunities.
- Foster effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary liaison to granting organizations and ensure timely submission of required reports.
- Supervise hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of SWFT staff; collaborate with other college personnel supporting SWFT participants.
- Develop and manage the program budget in partnership with the Senior Director; monitor expenditure and ensure fiscal compliance.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain accurate program and student data.
- Collaborate with the Office of Grants and Contracts to prepare and submit the required grant reports and applications.
- Optimize the use of program resources to ensure efficiency and impact.
- Work with Marketing and Public Relations to promote the SWFT program and its outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with college policies, grant requirements, and applicable collective bargaining agreements in all personnel and program operations.
- Serve on College Council and other relevant committees.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- Work experience in a leadership role, including staff supervision and budget management
- Demonstrated experience supporting diverse student populations, including first-generation, low-income, underrepresented, or students with disabilities
- Prior experience in grant administration and familiarity with record-keeping and compliance for state or federally funded programs.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage a range of audiences
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail, deadlines, and accurate reporting.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with members of the Parkland College departments, community and members of the public
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across departments and with external stakeholders
- Customer service orientation in a professional setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/360 and database management systems with the ability to learn the Parkland information system and new programs as technology changes
- Successfully complete a criminal background check with fingerprinting
- In an effort to comply with SURS return-to-work restrictions for employers (40 ILCS 5/15-139.5), candidates for employment at Parkland College must either not be a SURS annuitant or must be willing to suspend his/her SURS annuity upon employment. This applies to all SURS annuitants except those receiving their annuity under either the Self-Managed Plan (SMP) or by lump sum payment.
