Paraprofessional/Paraprofessional, Special Education 7/17/2025 CENTRAL 25-26 School Year 07/31/2025 Paraprofessional Special Education Classroom REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education POSITION OBJECTIVE: The job of Paraprofessional Special Education Classroom is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of individual and/or small groups of special needs students in the classroom or community setting; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior; and providing clerical support to teachers and staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: RESPONSIBILITY Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organization's services. WORKING ENVIRONMENT The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
