Team's Role in the Firm / Division

The Global Banking & Markets (GBM) Public Client Data Protection (CDP) Team is responsible for developing and delivering commercial, market leading, client data protection solutions aligned to the objectives of the Firm, Division and our Clients. These solutions are geared to provide clients with a robust framework, consisting of data visibility standards and controls, CDP preferences, opt-outs, and visibility reporting, which aid in protecting confidential information (orders, positions, etc.). The team is also responsible for establishing policies, standards and a governance framework to monitor implementation to ensure we control for operational, legal and reputational risk.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

The CDP team is seeking junior associates to join its team to lead high priority initiatives, as part of the GBM-Public CDP strategy. The candiate is expected to be working across diverse groups of cross-functional stakeholders to address client inquiries on CDP, provide CDP marketing information, reporting and analysis. The candidate will monitor and generate reports of Sales, Trading & Strats access to client's confidential information, in collaboration with GS Sales & Client Services, based on client demand. The candidate should demonstrate comfort with navigating complex workflows and processes, financial analytics, and large sets of data, and should exhibit strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Candidate's Role on the Team



  • Strategic Initiatives & Planning

    • Develop strategies to effectively protect our client's intellectual property
    • Understand priorities, define requirements, workflows, data needs and processes to rationalize requests and streamline processes
    • Create and manage process methodologies, best practices and standards to align to the Client Data Protection framework

  • Reporting & Analysis

    • Analyze data in order to develop strategies to drive new product features and demonstrate impact via OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), and document milestones and tasks in JIRA, directly benefitting the client franchise
    • Influence and articulate strategic enhancements to senior stakeholders by leveraging data insights to tell a story

  • Collaboration & Communication

    • Create and manage relationships across functional teams to help drive commercial impact and opportunites
    • Own and define roadmaps by collaborating with various stakeholders across GBM-Public including Sales and Trading as well as communicate end-user needs to the Change Delivery team to help drive transformative capabilities
    • Partner with senior stakeholders across divisions to deliver best-in-class entitlements and control framework
    • Partner / Liaise with Legal & Compliance teams supporting GBM-Public businesses to communicate client needs to be incorporated as part of SCR agreements

  • Technology Implementation

    • Coordinate with Engineering teams on building requirements to incorporate data restriction controls, based on client requests
    • Partner / Liaise with engineering and other stakeholders on testing of technology enhancements
    • Leverage business intelligence tools to effectiviely streamline processes and data analysis
    • Comprehend business system infrastructure, data linkages and system dependencies




Qualifications, Skills, & Characteristics of An Ideal Candidate



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics or Data Science
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in financial services, preferably related to Equities & Fixed Income businesses
  • Relevant experience in a data management, product owner, or product strategy role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and oral; confident in communicating directly with senior stakeholders
  • Project management skills including project issues, challenges, identifying risks and dependencies
  • Strong analytical and business analysis experience, including process analysis
  • Commercial focus, team player, self-motivated, problem solver, attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint skills, and ability to leverage JIRA
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Alteryx, Tableau ,etc.) is preferred
