• Salary Range - $95,000 to $120,000

The purpose of this position is to assist the Government with the development, delivery, and oversight of select training and education for the National Guard (NG), to include the Joint Staff as it pertains to Homeland Defense Activities and Leadership Development; integrate NG joint training requirements with interagency activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Function as an expert in Strategic Leadership Development.
• Coordinate and facilitate monthly Leadership Development speaker series (12 events per year).
• Coordinate and facilitate quarterly Leadership Development seminars (4 events per year) and 1 Joint Strategic Leadership Development event per year.
• Present learning and development industry best practices in instructional design and curriculum development, classroom instruction and classroom facilitation, and strategic leadership development events.
• Facilitate the design and development of a curriculum that promotes adult learning and professional and leadership development
• Support Joint Strategic Leadership Development (JSLD) events providing Leadership Development for the NGB Joint Staffs, which encompasses opportunities to refine existing knowledge and develop increasingly agile intellectual skills across the Joint Training continuum, Homeland Defense, Homeland Security, All Hazards Response, Joint Warfighter Concept, Individual & Staff Training, and Professional Development.
• Develop an annual calendar of JSLD events for approval by the Government.
• Support the planning and execution phases of multiple overlapping JSLD events concurrently.
• Provide an Annual Report reporting the number of events, topics presented, number of participants, and potential future emerging leadership development topics for consideration in support of the performance of this work.

Requirements of the Leadership Development Specialist:

• Possess a Secret clearance, as verified by the Government.
• Have knowledge and understanding of National Guard organizations, missions, and operations.
• Must have formal or informal training in multiple discipline fields related to Strategic Leadership Development (e.g., leadership development, public speaking, military history, public affairs, public policy, international studies, education, project management, etc.). Candidate must have no less than an aggregate of 120 hours of training in multiple different disciplines and/or 24-hour credit hours of formal college courses in related degree fields as mentioned above.
