The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to join the Information Technology team at the Daytona Beach campus. This role provides technical support for computers, peripherals, tablets, and web conferencing systems, serving faculty, staff, and students.

The specialist will troubleshoot complex technology issues, recommend solutions, and support the adoption of new tools, requiring regular customer interaction. Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with demonstrated proficiency in grammar, spelling, basic composition, and math.

Required Experience:

  • 1-3 years of related work experience in IT support or a similar technical role.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS desktop operating systems, including the ability to perform diagnostics and troubleshoot independently. Fundamental knowledge of Linux operating systems is desirable.
  • Experience with mobile systems such as iOS and Android is preferred.
  • Possess basic networking knowledge such as DHCP, TCP/IP, etc.
  • Experience in supporting Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Exposure in supporting web conferencing systems such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Exposure in academic software support is a plus.
  • Fast learner. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to interact with audiences from a diverse background.
  • Ability prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain positive and professional outlook at all times. Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
