This position fills the need for technical support for long-term field monitoring (Neuse River, ModMon project, and FerryMon project) and related laboratory analytical activities. This position makes water quality measurements using multi-parameter data sondes ( YSI 6600 and 6800), coupled to data loggers, and lab processing of data. Water samples that are collected will be analyzed for nutrient (utilizing an autoanalyzer) and organic matter content, including high temperature C, H, N measurements, and total organic carbon measurements. The Technician must have working knowledge of these technologies. Some data analysis and application of sample statistics will be conducted as part of this position.

Prior experience with deployment of field environmental monitoring equipment, sample processing and nutrient analysis is desirable. Data processing experience is preferred.
