Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures is committed to research and teaching at all levels in German, Russian and several other Germanic, Central European, and Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. One of the most vibrant departments of its kind in the nation, GSLL is closely linked with interdisciplinary centers including the UNC Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies, and with the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies. We are also home to the Carolina-Duke Graduate Program in German Studies, one of the country's leading graduate programs in German.
Position Summary
The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures (http://gsll.unc.edu/) at the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting a temporary Teaching Assistant Professor position to teach German courses.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures. Native or near-native fluency in both English and German.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in foreign language instruction is preferred.
