Overview
Assists during OR procedures within scope of practice under the direction of the surgeon Qualifications Certifications: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) within 1 year - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA), Education: Certificate of Completion (Required), Work Experience: Responsibilities May perform venipuncture for the purpose of continuous IV therapy May perform activation of power equipment intraoperatively and electrosurgery unit May perform all aspects of wound closure May perform injection of local anesthetic after documented training in sterile technique, administration of local anesthetic, and monitoring techniques that will allow the CSFA to identify signs and symptoms of adverse reactions to the medication May perform insertion of trocars and drains May assist with robotic surgery May perform harvesting of saphenous vein May perform advancement of an endoscope May perform advanced task functions in the closure of surgical planes May provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation May assist in deployment of bowel stapler Assist surgeon with exposure Assist surgeon with hemostasis Assist surgeon by placing trocars Assist surgeon with closing the wound About Us Find it here. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $27.72per hour - $46.29per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
