Advantage xPO has a unique opportunity for you in Washington, DC. We have a new Maintenance Technician. Training is provided, so develop your skills here.

Pay: $26 - $32 per hour | Full-Time Hours

Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of experience and/or training, including the application of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry skills/concepts required
  • A valid driver's, forklift, and JLG operator's license
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or graphic form
  • Excellent communication skills



Maintenance Technician Job Description



  • Ensure workplace safety: Follow all safety guidelines, including OSHA compliance, lock-out/tag-out, and safety inspections.
  • Perform routine inspections: Conduct regular facility rounds to monitor systems, identify issues, and document equipment performance.
  • Equipment maintenance & repair: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of building equipment, including:

    • HVAC systems, fire life safety equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems.
    • Transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, circuits, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
    • Dock equipment (overhead doors, dock levelers, locks, and seals).
    • Building and parking lot lighting, emergency and exit lights, photoelectric eyes, and 120-volt exterior outlets.


  • Preventative maintenance: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, replace belts, hoses, fluids, and filters, and ensure all equipment operates at optimal efficiency.
  • General facility repairs: Rebuild pumps, steam traps, valves, and solenoid devices. Perform plumbing repairs (fix leaks, replace sinks, drains, valves), paint walls, and maintain lighting and electrical distribution systems.
  • Administrative tasks: Manage parts ordering, purchase order creation, vendor coordination, and maintenance scheduling.
  • Communication & collaboration: Work closely with team members and customer staff to ensure work requests are fully understood and provide status updates and completion timelines.
  • CMMS management: Document all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), analyze results, and recommend updates to preventative maintenance (PM) lists.
  • Project management: Oversee complex maintenance projects, equipment repairs, and coordinate subcontractors as needed.
  • Additional duties: Perform other tasks assigned by the Site Manager to ensure smooth facility operations.
