Senior Procurement Analyst
Job ID: 99754

Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
You will provide category management excellence to clients undergoing procurement diagnostics, value capture waves, or full transformations.
In this role, you will support developing a best-in-class content repository for various categories and ensure consistent delivery and quality to clients.
You will develop sourcing approaches for various categories, drive development of and execute standard analyses across categories to identify savings opportunities, and drive market research and insights. You will help develop capabilities of McKinsey colleagues and clients. You will play a key part in driving process improvement and delivering successful business results. You will contribute to identifying companies that McKinsey can partner with and/or acquire, identifying new solutions, trends, or alternative vendors for us to work with.
You'll have the opportunity to sharpen your technical skills, develop your knowledge in the procurement and sourcing space and become a skilled practitioner, focused on helping our clients transform their organizations through product portfolio, innovation and design, product optimization, category management and supplier collaboration.
Through this role you will receive distinctive training, apprenticeship, and coaching; work directly with clients and McKinsey CST's; and have high visibility within the organization including the opportunity to collaborate with entrepreneurial colleagues and senior McKinsey leaders.
You will be based in our Atlanta or Dallas office as part of our Product Development & Procurement service line in North America. This group blends strategic thinking with hands-on practicality to develop and implement operational strategies that solve our clients' most critical problems on a global scale.
Product Development & Procurement is a rapidly growing service line that helps organizations unlock growth through product and cost transformations, with an emphasis on sustainability, customer experience, and the latest digital and analytical solutions.
In addition, you will work in cooperation with our worldwide network of consultants to shape McKinsey's thinking in this area, continuously developing your own knowledge, as well as that of the firm.
Your Growth
Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues-at all levels-will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won't find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:
  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm's diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions for our clients. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • World-class benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, mental health, and vision coverage for you, your spouse/partner, and children.
Your qualifications and skills
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, operations or related disciplines with outstanding record of academic achievement preferred
  • 3+ years of prior procurement sourcing experience, with knowledge of the full value chain including purchasing/supply management, manufacturing, lean, savings opportunity identification, etc.
  • Must have experience with RFPs, RFQs, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and managing a minimum of a couple million in spend
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint required
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to travel
