DESCRIPTION

Responsible for provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients, according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy. Serve as preceptor to students and lower level pharmacists. Sr. Pharmacists participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy. This classification is higher level than Staff Pharmacist II. Employees at the Sr level are expected to be highly experienced and serve as subject matter experts to lower level pharmacists and other staff. Develop and implement educational and training programs, for pharmacists and ancillary personnel, as well as handling problems and other matters affecting pharmacy operations; and participate with controlled substances management, including ordering, receiving, inventory maintenance and reconciliation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent clinical experience.

  • Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH).

  • Five (5) of clinical oncology pharmacist experience (not including residency).

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and counseling skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Board Certification in Oncology (BCOP).
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing educational and training programs.
  • Previous experience in developing and participating in collaborative agreements.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $186,855 - $218,802 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $89.49 - $104.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
