Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Manage US Tax compliance and provision process and other governance matters for RBC and affiliated companies doing business in the US.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Manage tax compliance process including review of federal, state and local income tax return returns, quarterly estimates and extensions.
  • Review monthly tax provision calculations including quarterly Head Office reporting and year-end financial statement disclosures.
  • Manage and respond to tax notices and tax audits, including prepare/review responses and interacting with tax authorities.
  • Assist with tax projects as assigned.
  • Support and/or lead efforts to improve tax processes and leverage technology where applicable.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or tax.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of corporate tax experience in a Big Four or other public accounting firm or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of competence in Microsoft Excel, tax software systems (OneSource RS preferred) and effective management of large datasets

Nice-to-have:

  • CPA and/or advanced degree in tax or accounting
  • Inbound banking/financial services (Form 1120-F) experience
  • Power Query and Longview software

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $130,000 - $200,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
