Pay Rate: $18.65 - 22.80



GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


The Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of harvesting equipment and growing environments through routine and ad-hoc testing. The technician will handle data entry, review analytics, create detailed reports for management, and collect water, soil, and raw product samples as needed.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:


* Collect environmental surface swabs on harvesting equipment as scheduled.


* Conduct ATP swabbing on harvest equipment pre and post sanitation as needed


* Responsible for using Neogen equipment to conduct Zone 1 testing.


* Responsible for data entry, data review and analytics on testing performed.


* Creates reports on data collected for management


* Responsible for collecting water and soil samples as needed for testing


* Collect pre harvest pathogen test raw product samples as needed.


* Perform pre-harvest risk assessments of growing regions.


* Perform quality inspections for harvested products as needed.


* Filling out paperwork on a daily basis.


* Additional inspections as needed (vehicle, equipment, etc.)


* Assist with timeliness of Pre-Harvest inspections (perform additional inspections if needed)


* Inventory management


* Attendance review


* Additional documentation & communication with specialists/managers as needed


* Additional responsibility as needed


Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:


* 2-3 years of food safety and quality auditing experience required.
* Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
* Should be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Understand and follow posted work rules/procedures.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


* Ability to work in various weather conditions.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to travel to various work locations and relocate.
* Must be able to work on exposure temperatures that may change depending on day-by-day weather including extreme cold, heat and rainy conditions.


WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:


* Ability to work long hours and work 7 days a week.
* Requires working Saturdays, some Sundays, Holidays, and nights.

Required Experience

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:


* H.S. Diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education


PAY RATE:


$18.65 - $20.80
