Essential Job Duties
Work with internal and external clients to generate revenue to financially operate the lab, manage and balance lab accounts and billing, train and mentor graduate students and faculty on the use of the instruments, and collaborate with other service lab managers to coordinate client testing. Work towards teaching/assisting with undergraduate and graduate analytical classes and providing tours and lab sessions for faculty that incorporate analytical instrumentation as part of their lectures/labs. Work towards developing course materials for both in-person and online instruction.

Minimum Education and Experience
Master of Science degree in Textile Chemistry. Must have one year of part-time experience as a research assistant or teaching assistant. Must have demonstrated experience with: High-Performance Liquid Chromatography ( HPLC), encompassing calibration techniques, innovative method development, and precision instrument troubleshooting; possessing strong instructional skills with expertise in delivering prelab lectures on dyeing and finishing processes, providing
hands-on guidance during the lab sessions, and helping students understand and apply techniques related to textile coloration, surface modification, and finishing treatments, while ensuring accurate execution of experiments, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment; UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis) for quantitative analysis of solutions, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) for molecular structure determination, and Goniometer for surface energy and wettability measurements; Thermogravimetric Analysis ( TGA) for compositional and thermal stability studies, and Differential Scanning Calorimetry ( DSC) for investigating thermal transitions and behavior of materials; and researching photodegradation of Anthraquinone dyes by utilizing high-resolution mass spectrometry to precisely characterize dye compounds and their degradation products, and by utilizing tandem mass spectrometry for in-depth structural elucidation.
