JobSummary:
This position will work with all levels of management. Main responsibilities involve developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting controls for existing and new equipment. Position will also support managing integrators for new business.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering.
- 5 years electrical controls design experience.
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradly PLC's.
- Advanced Understanding of PLC Programming Languages.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Maintain PLC systems by ensuring backups of all programs are available and spare parts are available for the existing systems.
- Work with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot instrument and PLC problems.
- Work with engineering personnel in determining routine changes to programming on the PLCs and HMIs. Support projects involving PLCs by overseeing contractors and / or writing the PLC and HMI programming themselves.
- Must have knowledge of industrial electrical, including advanced electrical (three phase 460 volt and higher) design, sizing of components and installations, etc. Must have proven knowledge of electrical components troubleshooting and repair.
- Must have knowledge of electrical systems including motors, air compressors, pumps, AC, DC, drive troubleshooting.
- Must be able to read, communicate, and comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, equipment files, etc. Ability to communicate effectively in writing form through letters and email. Ability to do research in the Internet or company Intranet.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organization skills and self-starter motivation. Prioritization skills in alignment with Plant priorities. Continuous Improvement mindset and results oriented.
- Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. \
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.)
- Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive implementation of new technology and plant improvements.
- Programming and documentation of PLC, PMC, HMI, VFD, etc.
- Manage electrical design / approvals of new equipment.
- Develop plant equipment specifications.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians.
- Create and maintain plant equipment drawings using AutoCAD.
- Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Confer with suppliers in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
- Work closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products.
- Provide engineering support in production departments to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
- Upgrade old or out of date control systems with newer devices and practices.
- Provide Root Cause Analysis of ongoing issues and provide permanent solutions.
- Develop plans for building utility upgrades.
