Rope Access Supervisor - Level III

Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are seeking a SPRAT or IRATA Level III Rope Access Supervisor (technician or engineer acceptable) to join our Baton Rouge (preferred) or New Orleans office. As a Rope Access Supervisor, you will be working alongside a team of qualified engineers to perform condition assessments around the world. The principal function of this position is to manage safe field operations and assist the Rope Access Program Manager in the growth of the team. Bridge inspection and nondestructive testing (NDT) experience is preferred.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Supervises safe rope access operations on project sites
• Assists the Rope Access Program Manager in leading safe field operations
• Assists with various project planning and execution activities
• Prepares project safety plans and rescue plans while analyzing hazards and mitigating them
• Supports other certified inspectors with gear allocation, maintenance, and selection
• Provides rigging support, oversight, and training
• Communicates with teaming partners, clients on site, and other safety agencies as needed
• Reviews safety plans from other subconsultants or partners
• Assists in the annual updates of our Fall Protection Program
• Assists the Rope Access Program Manager with our internal training program
• Works collaboratively with Moffatt & Nichol management and staff as needed
• Analyzes deteriorated components and remaining capacities
• Prepares or reviews reports in accordance with federal, state and internal standards
• Provides technical support with our internal data collection system development
• Works daily with software applications such as Microsoft suite, Adobe, etc.
• Participates in long-distance projects with travel and overnight stays as required
• Adheres to Moffatt & Nichol's Quality Management System (QMS)
• Performs other duties as necessary

Qualifications:

• Rope access certification: SPRAT Level III or IRATA Level III
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience
• Valid driver's license in good standing
• Valid passport and availability for international travel
• NBIS Team Leader with NHI-130055 certification strongly desired
• Fracture Critical Inspection or Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NSTM) NHI-130078 certification preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience with aerial lift equipment with ANSI A92 training preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
• Nondestructive testing (NDT) experience required and ASNT certifications preferred
• Certified Weld Inspector certification preferred
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification preferred
• Selected candidate must consent to and pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
• All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

Majority of work if field based. Field work includes exposure to extreme heat, cold or inclement weather. Ability to use standard office equipment. Travel is required.
