POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Personnel will perform shipping, receiving, warehousing and inventory duties at the magazine area of the Weapons Division.
Primary duties will consist of the following:
- Verify that all material received or shipped has met all regulations governing the movement of hazardous material in accordance with all government instructions.
- Package, prepare for shipment and load carrier vehicles with outgoing shipments, to include blocking and bracing.
- Store materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods and procedures.
- Re-pack, palletize, and apply appropriate markings of materials.
- Generate and apply bar code labels for materials in storage, incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Operate storage areas in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Retrieve and process materials for transport or release to customer.
- Handle and process classified material up to and including security classification of SECRET.
- Prepare and submit all corresponding documentation including, but not limited to, inventory records, receipt documents, shipping documents, reports of discrepancy and any necessary reports and submittals.
- Inventory magazines using bar code scanner.
- Operate various types of materials handling equipment, to include powered forklifts.
- Operate vehicles up to and including five (5) ton stake truck as required.
- Perform daily/weekly alarm system checks and inspections.
- Supply technical data research in support of customers' new, incoming experimental materials.
- Provide technical data to A, D & C for military ROLMS, A & E tracking system.
- Use of defense transportation and tracking system for constant satellite monitoring.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be physically able to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Forklift operations experience required. (Minimum 6 months experience)
- Munitions handling experience required. (Minimum 1 year experience)
- Inventory experience required. (Minimum 1 year experience)
- Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within ninety (90) days of hire and maintain clearance for duration of employment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid CA Driver's License with Hazard endorsement.
- Current DMV printout will be required.
- Must be able to pass and maintain a certified DMV medical examination.
- Must be able to read and interpret MILSPEC/MILSTD instructions.
- Must be familiar with MIL NAVSEA OP5.
- Must be able to pass the Basic Explosive Safety Test (BEST) within 60 days of employment.
- Must be able to pass Explosive Drivers and Forklift Operators course within 60 days of employment.
- Must be able to pass the Initial and General Transportation of Hazardous Materials course (Ammo-62).
- Must be able to pass the Naval Vehicle and Rail Car Inspector course (Ammo-51).
- Basic High School level math and reading comprehension skills required.
- Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
