Description

We are seeking a Sr. Test Engineer supporting the test department at NuSpace in all qualification and acceptance testing of NuSpace's products. Testing includes hydrostatic proof pressure, helium leak, static load, expulsion and flow, pressure differential, vacuum, vibration, and thermal testing of spacecraft propellant and pressurant tanks. The role will work directly with engineering, manufacturing, and program management in developing test procedures, test and fixturing design, providing shop floor technical support as required, reviewing and accepting test data, writing test reports, and leading continuous improvement efforts in the department. The position will report to the engineering manager and work closely with the test department supervisor in supporting operations.

Essential Responsibilities



  • Committed to working to the highest safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Support new development and qualification programs with test and fixture design, writing test procedures, and providing engineering oversight for critical tests.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for NuSpace test technicians and vendor support as well as develop strong working relationships with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Review and analyze test data to assess acceptability against test requirements, in-family performance against past tests, and assess any abnormalities. Generate clear plots and charts with on test data.
  • Technical liaison for Program Management and NuSpace customers on supporting programs as required.
  • Provide technical expertise to Quality on test non-conformances using RCCA methodologies and providing rework/repair recommendations to Engineering.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance testing capabilities and processes within NuSpace and its suppliers.



Pay Range: $110, 000.00 to $140,000.00 per year



Position Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in test engineering
    • Relevant experience includes but not limited to hydraulic and pneumatic pressure testing, helium leak, flow testing, vibration, thermal testing, instrumentation (pressure, flow, force, strain, temperature, and more), and data acquisition

Desired Characteristics

  • Aerospace experience is highly valued
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills in drafting clear and complete procedures and specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawing and GD&T.
  • Ability to use CAD software. PTC CREO is preferred.
