More Than Housing-You're Building Hope: the YMCA is hiring a Housing Manager! The Housing Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the resident operations to include intake and evaluation of potential residents, ensure rent is paid and enforce measures if individuals become delinquent, and act as a liaison with case managers, residents and staff of the YMCA. The Housing Manager's primary responsibility is to ensure compliance of the resident operation of the Hub. Salary starts at $45,000 per year with opportunities to grow within the organization!

Scope of Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Maintenance Staff to assure cleanliness of building working with both in house staff and outside
cleaning - Coordinate with Maintenance Staff for room readiness and repairs
- Coordinate weekly extermination
- Intake, re-certification and lease renewal of all market rate and subsidized residents. Perform background and income and landlord verifications for applicants
- Review leases
- Make sure that all resident's files are complete and accurate
- Assist in development and administration of marketing plan to ensure occupancy rates
- Full understanding of our Customer Relationship Management system, cashier duties as needed
- Assist Operations Director and Finance with quarterly Low Income Housing billing for facility, and with all Low-Income Housing Trust Program.
- Coordinate with Housing staff to have Quarterly tenant focus group meetings, Holiday events and resident give back events.
- Initiate all 10-day & 30-day notices for behavior or room issues and follow up with legal process. Initiate 5-day notices for non- payment of rent issues. Issue non-renewal notices. Work with Attorney for court evictions for non- payment of rent issues, and behavioral issues.
- Assist Operations Director and Business off to prepare reports to funding agencies as required thus assuring compliance with funder's criteria.
- Work with Case Management staff by referring any resident experiencing difficulties with financial, medical or behavioral issues
- Make sure every room in the building is inspected quarterly.
- Act as a liaison with other YMCA staff by attending meetings, hub and association functions.
- Schedule and supervise any part-time residence front desk staff.
Minimum and Preferred Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of experience.
- Commitment to, and a passion for, the YMCA of Metro Chicago's mission.
- Customer service orientation, with the ability to effectively communicate on a regular basis with internal/external customers, build relationships, manage expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with members, team members and other stakeholders and constituents.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel), email; ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
