Where Family Fun Meets Purpose - Join the Y Movement! The Family Engagement Coordinator role is designed to engage new members and current members in programs and activities at the YMCA, with a focus on Families, with the goal to positively impact member retention as well as, supporting the YMCA in relevant programs and services. Pay is $19.00-$23.00 per hour with opportunities to grow within the organization!

Scope of Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a process for welcoming new family members, answer questions and identify opportunities for them to engage in the YMCA
- Develop and lead family programs to include family nights, family events and activities
- Develop and support the implementation of youth special interest programs and events, such as craft classes, STEM, Parents Night Out etc.
- Work collaboratively with the YMCA leadership team to plan and implement signature events such as Welcome Week, Halloween at the Y and Healthy Kids Day.
- Participate in community events which provide an opportunity for the YMCA to engage families in the community
- Provide support for special member activities which are focused on member engagement such as Senior Health Fair, Fitness Events etc.
- Foster meaningful, professional relationships with YMCA family members to help move them from casual, connected to committed.
- Ensure effective communication with the YMCA leadership team, so they can support the promotion and registration of programs and activities
Minimum and Preferred Requirements
- Ability to work with families from diverse backgrounds
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and ability to adapt to new technology
- Good interpersonal/communication skills
- Experience developing and implementing programs in a recreational setting or related area
- Must demonstrate emotional maturity, well versed in conflict management
- Understanding of family dynamics and family strengthening
- Initiative both to work independently and as a team player and to plan and execute tasks
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong public speaking skills
- Strong knowledge of surrounding communities
- Must have flexibility for some evening and weekends based on program needs
Child Abuse Prevention - Supports the YMCA's commitment to child abuse prevention by:
- Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
- Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
- Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
- Completing all child abuse prevention
