Responsible for performing a wide variety of duties to assist in maintaining parts room efficiencies by issuing parts and tools and maintaining inventory and records. Work with Department Supervisor and support all assigned personnel and equipment requirements during their respective shift. While performing the duties listed below, the lead is required to spend 85% of time on the floor. Day to Day Role
- Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements
- Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
- Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Coordinate with Department Supervisor to review and maintain schedules to ensure resources are available to meet schedule. Ensure that accurate information is reported, and the appropriate paperwork is completed and turned in
- Audit the floor as required by Leader Standard Work, monitor metrics, verify adherence to procedures and standard work, correct deficiencies and escalate to supervisor as necessary
- Communicate with oncoming shifts about any problems or issues that are occurring. Work with other departments to maintain or improve communications
- Confirm that parts room inventory is recorded, controlled, and monitored according to procedures and requirements.
- Responsible for inventory record accuracy, cycle counts, root cause analysis and corrective action for variances.
- Track and maintain appropriate documentation
- Assists in the maintenance of time and production records
- Communicate team goals, processes and procedures
- Actively support Operational Excellence and effectively participate in lean initiatives
- Receive used tooling and evaluate for grind purposes, scrap, or receipt back into inventory
- Unload and deliver tools and parts manually or via forklift, lift truck or pallet jack as needed
- Verify, compare, and confirm type and quality of received goods against Bill of Lading, invoices, or pick tickets
- Report and record any discrepancy, damaged items, shortages, broken or unidentified packages to the supervisor
- Ensure that all tools, parts and equipment are in good working conditions
Core Skills and Qualifications The ideal candidate must posess the following:

- Two (2) years' relevant experience overseeing parts / tool room, inventory control, or purchasing working in a fast-paced work environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Previous plant production software experience required
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
- Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
- Ability to utilize and train employees on technology, processes and procedures
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
- Ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) license
- Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures
- Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
