Sr. Software Engineer (TS/SCI)

Maxar is seeking aSenior Software Engineerwith a strong emphasis onfront-end developmentand full-stack capabilities to support a mission-critical Government customer at a secure site inReston, VA. This is ahands-on coding rolethat also includesmentorship and team culture responsibilities. You will be part of a collaborative leadership team and a key contributor to both the codebase and the growth of the engineering team.

The role supports asuite of mature, mission-critical applicationscurrently deployed in production. You will be responsible forOperations & Maintenance (O&M)of these systems, as well as thedesign and development of new features and enhancementsto meet evolving mission needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide O&M support for a suite of deployed applications, ensuring stability, performance, and security

• Design and implement new features and enhancements based on customer requirements

• Develop and maintain scalable front-end applications using modern frameworks

• Contribute to full-stack development efforts including API integration and cloud deployment

• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architectural discussions

• Mentor junior developers and support career development initiatives

• Help foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture

• Support secure code deployments and attend regular customer meetings on-site (~40% with flexibility)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current CI polygraph

• Bachelor's degreein Computer Science or related field

• 9+ yearsof professional software engineering experience

• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies: React, Angular, Vue.js, TypeScript, HTML/CSS

• Experience with back-end development: Node.js, Python, Java, REST/GraphQL APIs

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps tools: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD

• Demonstrated experience mentoring or managing developers

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Work Environment

This role supports a secure Government site in Reston, VA. While we "build low and deploy high," allowing for significant remote work,on-site presence is requiredfor customer meetings, planning cycles, and code deployments. On-site time averages40%, with some flexibility in scheduling outside of recurring meetings and critical events.
