Involved in leading, managing, planning, producing, implementing, and analyzing internal and external communications strategies and tactics for projects, programs, products, and services to various audiences and market segments through varied channels. Must include functional areas consisting of technical writing, public relations, and/or marketing communications.
Develop and drive the highest-risk, highest-opportunity marketing communication strategies, working with partners across multiple business operations as necessary to achieve stated objectives
Initiate business opportunities and manage major communications initiatives via research, analyzing market communication trends and conditions to assess strategic efficacy and communications program performance
Serve as marketing communications program owner, accountable for development, design, and execution, and ensuring that processes and systems align with strategy
Collaborate with internal/external business partners to ensure communications program positioning/promotion is aligned and effective
Often manage agency resources or strategic partner teams; marshal the resources required for success
Work closely with senior management to identify market opportunities and develop and prioritize communications programs that meet company growth, market share, and brand objectives
Serve as a central resource for brand-related information and coordinate with business partners in creating and deploying brand-building communication programs; educate business partners on brand-related issues and opportunities
Serve as a mentor and SME to other communication managers and market managers, and demonstrate the department's best practices in all areas of marketing communications
Provide oversight and direction to the team to ensure strategic alignment, priorities, processes, and timelines are met
Develop and maintain innovative processes and workflows that drive operational efficiency and excellence, and increase ROI on communication tools, vendors, and systems; manage applicable budget
May lead functional teams and/or projects; receive requests for communication resources, assess resource availability, and assign resources to projects
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related experience
Six years of experience in related communications work for a variety of mediums and customizing content to targeted audiences
Six or more years of demonstrated experience with program management and leadership skills, including the ability to recommend strategic direction and influence communication
Skill to effectively use a variety of communication mediums and customize content for targeted audiences
Ability to use creative ideas to research, present, and recommend community involvement proposals
Proven ability to problem solve, manage multiple projects simultaneously, plan strategically, and adapt to frequent change
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven advanced presentation skills
Strong writing, editing, communication, presentation, organization, and planning skills. Ability to write documentation and reports that are clear, complete, and understood by both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to organize individual responsibilities for multiple tasks, resulting in the timely and accurate completion and delivery of tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster cooperation amongst business partners and coordinate internal as well as external resource/workload
Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties
Ability to work with individuals from all levels of organization
