The Nurse Training & Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of company initiatives by providing clinical and non-clinical education and training to patients, clinical and non-clinical team members. The Nurse Training & Development Specialist supports initiatives including, but not limited to, patient care workflow redesign, pilot projects, skills competency/validation and training, new team member onboarding, and expansion of the organization's clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures, patient education and enterprise initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality care and interest of internal and external customers
  • Represents the Company in a professional manner, following all Company policies and procedures
  • Uses, protects, and discloses patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Partners with clinic and corporate team members to drive success through co-ownership of the clinic's performance results
  • Serves as a resource and consultant to identify and assist with training and development needs
  • Provides initial and ongoing clinical and non-clinical training support for appropriate learners
  • Supports and exemplifies core values
  • Participates in the planning, design, implementation, revision and delivery of training curriculum, job aides, resource manuals and skills validation tools
  • Develops and/or executes clinical and non-clinical competencies used for on-the-job training as well as skills validation tools for both new hires during New Team Member Onboarding and existing staff during annual competency validation
  • Develops and implements remediation tools and programs for learning deficits identified during training
  • Works in collaboration with other departments to develop clinical and non-clinical education sessions
  • Independently performs scheduled (and as needed) Annual Clinical Skills Assessments for Nurses and Medical Assistants in the clinics, including coaching and needs assessment sessions
  • Completes appropriate documentation applicable to assigned task and reviews findings with leadership
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in new product testing and supports the implementation process, as needed
  • Serves as a subject matter expert with clinic startups, acquisitions, and affiliate support as needed
  • Supports Manager and participates/supports Departmental goals with project and committee attendance
  • Works closely with other members of the Education, Training and Development Team to assure compliance with all Company policies and procedures; Florida Nurse Practice Act; Texas Nurse Practice Act; OSHA; HIPAA; other regulatory agencies
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
  • Must have consistent, punctual and reliable attendance
  • Ability to travel locally up to 90% of the time
  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel throughout the geographic market as needed, including overnight stays

Required Qualifications:



  • College degree in healthcare, information systems, or related field
  • RN or LPN/LVN:

    • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
    • Current, valid, RN or LPN/LVN license
    • IV Certification required for LPN/LVN, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment


  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare provider and/or ACLS (AHA) or American Red Cross CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • 3+ years of experience working either in acute care or an ambulatory care setting
  • 1+ years of experience as a clinical trainer or educator
  • Experienced training in a healthcare setting and/or institution
  • Ability to travel throughout the geographic market as needed, including overnight stays (Local and non-local travel as determined by the business)
  • Driver's license and access to reliable transportation


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Teams
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in Standard English to staff from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to clients with diverse cultural backgrounds, educational experiences and learning styles
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) language proficiency



Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
