HX5 is currently seeking a Power Electronics Analyst to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will provide power electronics analysis and modeling support to NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) in support of the Level 2 development of the NASA Gateway. Gateway is a manned lunar station comprised of multiple elements that include the mini habitat module, logistics module, human lander vehicle, and future habitats. This work is to support the engineering for the development and integration of the Gateway power system. The assigned engineer will work with a team of Electrical Engineers to advance the proposed Gateway architecture.

Required Skills:

  • Must have power electronics experience, with at least 2 to 4 years working in the design and testing of power electronics.
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB modeling of power electronics and power systems is required.
  • Background in power system standards, specifications, analysis, power quality assessments and verification, fault coordination, testing, and the generation of test documentation is required.

Other Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in the usage of Altium Designer version 21 or greater, along with the design standards associated with IPC-2221 and IPC-2222.
  • Ability to read and create engineering drawings and flow charts for power electronics assemblies/systems.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience or Master's degree with 3 to 6 years of experience.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
