Job Title: Facilities & Operations Manager FLSA Status: Full Time - exempt Reports to: Assistant Director Schedule: Standard Business Supervises: Maintenance & Custodial Technicians Rate of Pay: $67,000 annually Closing Date: 08/21/2025 Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Function: The facilities manager oversees and performs maintenance and facility related operations of their designated congregate or non-congregate shelter. This position ensures that all spaces internal to the facility meets safety and environmental regulations which include clean, sanitary and orderly conditions. These spaces serve neighbors who were without housing and are utilizing temporary housing services. The Facilities Manager provides leadership and supervision to the Program Assistants and Maintenance and Custodial Technician team which includes oversight of the team's training, safety and policies adherence, scheduling and daily tasks which promote a clean and safe environment for employees and guests. Weekend or non-traditional work hours may be required. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead staff to create a positive environment for staff and guests.
- Hire, train, cross-train and professionally develop members of the maintenance and custodial technician team and Program Assistant team to be proficient in responding to both simple and complex situations while using trauma informed care and appropriate crisis intervention strategies.
- Manage HR related issues including performance management, evaluations and conflict resolution in a timely manner.
- Delegate cleaning and maintenance tasks to team members
- Ensure staff complete all required training and ensure compliance of organizational policies.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and productivity of staff during all shifts at the facility; establish staff accountability for work assignments, workflows and regular staff meetings.
- Maintain safe, stable, supportive community environments that allows guests to focus on their recovery, health, and future housing stabilization.
- Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas such as offices, community spaces, guest spaces, parking lots and outdoor areas.
- Perform and delegate routine cleaning and maintenance of facilities and making repairs as needed.
- Coordinate the preparation of vacant units for occupancy and ensure timely turnover.
- Effectively manage vendors and suppliers which includes but is not limited to: scheduling routine inspections, coordinating emergency repairs with vendors (may include city of Denver departments), ensuring timely deliveries.
- Pick up and deliver program meals or client supplies/items as necessitated by program need.
- Ensure the facility is prepared for changing weather conditions.
- Administrative responsibilities.
- Use budgeting tools to monitor costs and ensure operational efficiency; care for and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Follow all procurement policies and procedures in alignment with organizational policies and contractual compliance requirements.
- Process all payments and invoices in accordance with TSA policy.
- Cost Management: drive down program costs through efficient operations management.
- Address issues in a timely manner.
- Create reports and tracking systems on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the city of Denver (as appropriate) and management to address facility needs.
- This position requires driving and candidate must pass Driver Safety Training.

Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications:
- Education
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor's degree, preferred.
- Skills

- Microsoft required: working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training preferred.
- Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working with vulnerable populations, as demonstrated through education or work experience is required.
- At least one year of experience supervising employees is required.
- At least two years of experience in building maintenance roles.
- Experience with trauma informed care and crisis management techniques, preferred.
- Comfortable working in a crisis-oriented environment and responding appropriately to a person in crisis.
- Ability to respond with humility to diversity and the needs of our unhoused neighbors.

- Driving
- This position requires driving:
- A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver's license is required.
- An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
- Background Check
- Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
